However, in 2013, UL released its Innovating Fire Attack Tactics report, which outlined the results of a series of tests conducted with NIST and the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) (UL, 2013). Researchers found that applying a limited amount of water through an open window or door into the fire compartment before entering the structure may dramatically improve interior conditions for both occupants and fire fighters.
