This Recert course details the variety of roles in the Incident Management System that every fire officer should be able to assume. He or she must be prepared to perform the duties of a first-arriving officer at any incident, including assuming initial command of the incident, establishing the basic management structure, and following standard operating procedures (SOPs). The fire officer must also be fully competent at working within the Incident Command System (ICS) at every scene. The procedures to be followed are outlined in detail in this module.
