Our "People of PSG” series is an opportunity for friends of the Public Safety Group to get to know the people behind the products and services you know and love. Each article will feature an interview with a PSG team member and will provide insight into their role, why they choose to work for PSG, and some fun facts about the team member. You won’t want to miss this series!

Today, we had the chance to chat with Stephanie Tarpy.

Tell us a little about yourself and your position at the Public Safety Group.

I was born and raised in Woburn, Massachusetts, where I still currently reside. I received my bachelor’s degree from Bentley University in 2016, and I am currently enrolled in an MBA program with Suffolk University. I started working at Jones & Bartlett Learning in late 2017 as a Sales Coordinator and eventually became an Account Manager. Now, I have been placed in the new role of Sales Development Representative with the Public Safety Group.

What’s your favorite thing about your job?

I'm looking forward to bringing my experience from my other roles within Jones & Bartlett Learning to the position of Sales Development Representative. So far, I have enjoyed meeting the team and learning more about the different processes.  I hope that my variety of experience and my identifying of new opportunities brings value to the team.

What’s something you’ve done that most people haven’t done?

Skydiving! Before coming to Jones & Bartlett Learning, I took a three-week trip to Australia and New Zealand. During my stay in Christchurch, New Zealand, I went skydiving and got to see the gorgeous views of the mountains and ocean from up above.

Outside of work, what hobbies or activities do you enjoy?

Two of my favorite hobbies are cooking and staying active, both of which have helped me during this time of quarantine. I love putting together different meals to see which foods work well together. Recently, I have been trying to perfect the art of pasta making. As for staying active, I love activities that get me outside and let me enjoy the weather. Luckily, I live near a pond, so I frequently jog or run by the water and through different trails. In the winter, I am always up for snowboarding.

Stay tuned for the next "People of PSG" feature!
