This interactive lecture details how to create a successful fire and life safety education program by understanding how to assess risks and their root causes, developing relationships to support the programs, and measuring program effectiveness.

After completing this course, the fire inspector should be able to:

• Discuss the role of the fire inspector in promoting fire and life safety education.
• Discuss the techniques that the fire inspector may use to create a fire and life safety program.
• Discuss the techniques that the fire inspector may use to encourage partnerships and cooperation in stakeholders.
• Describe how to determine the community's fire and life safety risks.
• Describe how to create a fire and life safety program to meet the needs of the local community.
• Describe how to measure the effectiveness of a fire and life safety program.

Fire inspectors who successfully complete the Life Safety and the Fire Inspector (Fire Edition) course are eligible for 0.5 hours of continuing education.
