In this introductory Bloodborne Pathogen (BBP) Awareness online safety course, you will learn about bloodborne pathogens according to OSHA standards. This online training course focuses on the prevention of infection caused by bloodborne pathogens. Examples include Hepatitis and HIV. Special emphasis is given to workplace precautions for preventing exposure and on basic decontamination procedures for a workplace accident. By the end of this course, you should have a more thorough and up-to-date understanding of the equipment, systems and procedures necessary to assist you in reducing the risk of workplace accidents.

By taking this course and completing it successfully, you will be able to:

• How to take universal precautions with regard to bloodborne pathogen safety in the workplace
• The importance of bloodborne safety training in preventing infection
• The necessity of wearing PPE to protect yourself from bloodborne pathogens

Employees who successfully complete Bloodborne Pathogens will receive a completion card for 1.0 hours of continuing education.
